GC's "WHAT IS IT?"

"WHAT IS IT?" is a visual monthly challenge that is intended to test one's knowledge of Greensboro College's history, educate one about the history of the college and be a challenging, but fun and entertaining, diversion. Each image will be related, in some way, shape or form, to the history of Greensboro College. The monthly challenge is open to anyone. The first person to correctly answer each month will receive a 5"x7" photo print of that month's visual challenge.

The prize for correctly answering this month's challenge goes to Jennie Hunt, reference librarian.

ANSWER:
Pictured above is a print of the architect's original plan for the reconstruction of Main Building (3rd) after the fire of 1904. The plan was to have a small rotunda on each side of the central rotunda. Lack of funds prevented the completion of such a plan, and only the central rotunda was constructed.
