  2. The prize for correctly answering this month's challenge goes to Pam McKirdy (Associate Vice President for Technology) and Dr. Barnes Tatum (Jefferson-Pilot Professor of Religion and Philosophy Emeritus). Their answers were received at almost exactly the same time.

    ANSWER:
    Pictured above is the "new language laboratory", circa 1965. From a college publication, "Students in the foreign languages at GC are having a new experience since a language laboratory was installed in the Arts and Science Building." That location was temporary until Cowan Humanities Building was completed, at which time the language lab was move there.
